"The team from 'DTEK Dniprovski Electric Networks' was working on a power line in a settlement close to the front line when artillery shelling began. One of the shells landed near the crew's vehicle, damaging the body and windshield. Fortunately, the energy workers managed to take cover and remained unharmed," the press service noted.
They added that the company operates under a special permitting procedure to ensure maximum safety for its employees.
"Emergency crews only begin restoring the power grid after receiving permission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Additionally, energy workers wear special helmets and bulletproof vests. However, the enemy continues to attack the region, often leaving no time for the emergency crew to relocate to a safe area. Despite this, the energy workers in Dnipropetrovsk region continue their efforts, frequently risking their lives to ensure that residents have electricity," DTEK stated.
Over the past week, specialists from 'DTEK Dniprovski Electric Networks' restored electricity for more than 100,000 families who were left without power due to enemy shelling. Power was restored in 51 settlements that were fully or partially without electricity, the company reported.
