Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the name of the deputy, but available details suggest that it involves Nikolai Tishchenko.
A press release reported on events that took place this summer in Dnipro.
"On June 20, 2024, in Dnipro, a group of individuals, acting on the instructions of a member of the Ukrainian parliament, unlawfully deprived a victim – a participant in combat – of his freedom. He was held for a certain period and sustained bodily injuries. The investigation has established that this was done by prior agreement among a group of individuals, using physical force and special means," the statement reads.
As noted by the State Bureau of Investigation, the parliament member is suspected of unlawfully depriving a person of their freedom (part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He may face imprisonment for up to five years.
The indictment has already been sent to court, as stated in the announcement.
