Journalists asked Singh whether American weapons could be used to kill North Korean soldiers, as this "could have far-reaching consequences," or if the U.S. would impose any restrictions.
"No. If we see North Korean troops moving towards the front line, I mean they are complicit in the war, fighting on the front line, while the Ukrainians are defending their sovereign territory and pushing back the Russians," she stated.
According to U.S. estimates, Russia has already deployed 10,000 troops from North Korea.
"Some of these troops have already moved closer to Ukraine, and we are increasingly concerned that Russia intends to use them in combat operations or to support military actions against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation near the border with Ukraine," Singh said.
At the same time, she declined to confirm the presence of North Korean troops in the Kursk region.
"It is quite possible that they are moving in that direction, towards Kursk. But I do not have any more details at this time," the Pentagon representative added.
