"On November 4, 2024, the High Council of Justice approved the disciplinary complaint from the head of the SAP and dismissed the chairman of one of the courts in Poltava. The members of the disciplinary chamber supported the SAP's position and decided to submit a proposal for the dismissal of the specified judge, justifying their decision by stating that his actions undermine the authority of justice," the message reads.
The prosecution noted that the case against this judge is being heard in the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) of Ukraine.
"It was established that the judge encouraged an individual to provide an unlawful benefit to a judge of another court in Poltava for the satisfaction of a claim in a civil case. The judge created the impression and assured that the court decision in favor of the individual could only be obtained for an unlawful benefit of $10,000. However, as it turned out, he did not even attempt to hand over the specified funds for resolving the matter but instead used them at his own discretion," the SAP explained.
The agency emphasized that the investigation (conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau) found that the judge included knowingly false information in the declaration of a person authorized to perform state or local government functions for the year 2020.
The SAP did not disclose the name of the dismissed judge and did not specify which court was involved.
According to the publication "Poltavshchyna", the chairman of the Lenin District Court of Poltava, Yuriy Novak, was dismissed, who, as reported by journalists, was arrested in August 2022 for a bribe of $10,000.
