According to their data, the company has halted liquefaction of natural gas due to sanctions that restrict the shipment and sale of fuel. As a result, the plant, into which Novatek invested $25 billion, is unable to find buyers for its products: in October, approximately 5.3 million cubic meters are being delivered to the plant for liquefaction each day, which is more than twice lower than the level in September, the statement says.
Bloomberg claims that "Arctic LNG-2" is maintaining the processes necessary to keep the plant operational, but production has ceased. Since August, eight shipments of liquefied natural gas have been dispatched, but none of them have been sold, despite Novatek offering discounts of up to 40% off the market price.
