North Korea tested a ballistic missile during Blinken's visit to Seoul.

Во время визита Блинкена в Сеул КНДР провела испытание баллистической ракеты.

According to reports from journalists, the launch of what is likely a medium-range ballistic missile was recorded around 12:00 PM local time on January 6 from the area near the capital of North Korea, Pyongyang.

The article noted that in preparation for new launches, the military of South Korea has increased monitoring and vigilance, closely sharing information about the North Korean missile with American and Japanese counterparts while maintaining a state of full combat readiness.

As Yonhap added, the launch occurred while U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in the South Korean capital, Seoul, for talks with his South Korean counterpart about efforts to deter North Korean threats amid political upheaval in the south caused by President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed attempt to impose martial law last month.

Journalists recalled that the last time North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea was on November 5.

Blinken confirmed that North Korea conducted missile tests during his visit to Seoul, as reported by Reuters.

He stated that the launch underscores the importance of cooperation between the U.S., South Korea, and Japan, particularly in real-time missile data sharing and conducting trilateral military exercises.
