Lithuania and Estonia have imposed new sanctions on Georgian authorities, including Prime Minister Kobakhidze.

"Lithuania supports the people of Georgia and their European dream. In coordination with Estonia, we have expanded the list of sanctioned Georgian politicians by adding 17 more individuals, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze," he stated.

The Lithuanian diplomat emphasized that Vilnius "will not tolerate violence and oppression against peaceful protesters, journalists, and the opposition."

The Estonian Foreign Ministry also informed about the expansion of the sanctions list concerning representatives of the Georgian authorities.

"Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna signed a directive under which Estonia imposed sanctions on an additional 14 high-ranking Georgian officials and judges, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze," the statement said.

The Estonian Foreign Ministry quoted its head, who stated that "the violence used by the Georgian authorities against protesters, journalists, and opposition leaders is unacceptable, criminal, and contrary to human rights."

"I call on all EU countries to respond to what is happening in Georgia and take concrete measures against those who use unjustified force and brutal violence against the people of Georgia and undermine democracy," Tsahkna declared.

The Estonian Foreign Ministry noted that earlier the country imposed sanctions against 11 members of the ruling elite and high-ranking leaders of Georgia.
