Changes have been made to the decree "On the Suppression of Flights of Model Aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles," dated June 5, 2019.
The document establishes the right to use "physical force, special means, weapons, combat and special equipment" not only against model aircraft and UAVs but also against "unmanned aerial vessels, unmanned vehicles, including underwater and surface vessels, ground apparatus and complexes, the control of which is carried out remotely or in automatic mode."
In addition to military personnel and law enforcement agencies, Lukashenko has also granted the right to use weapons to the prosecutor's office, the Investigative Committee, the Committee of Forensic Examinations, the financial investigations department of the State Control Committee, the inspection for the protection of animal and plant life, rescuers, and customs officers.
On October 4, Lukashenko stated that drones allegedly enter Belarus from both Ukraine and the aggressor country, Russia. "We shoot down a lot. We don't look at whether they are Russian or Ukrainian," said the illegitimate president.
