The People's Deputy of Ukraine, Mykola Tyshchenko, has had his preventive measure extended to round-the-clock house arrest. This information comes from "Suspilne," citing a recently made decision by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv.
During the hearing, the deputy's defenders requested a change in the preventive measure from round-the-clock house arrest to nighttime house arrest, or personal obligations, so that Tyshchenko could fulfill his duties as a deputy.
However, the court disagreed with the defense's arguments and left the preventive measure unchanged. Thus, Mykola Tyshchenko will remain under round-the-clock house arrest until December 23, 2024.
The Case of Mykola Tyshchenko
As reported by UNIAN, on June 25, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) announced that Deputy Tyshchenko was informed of the suspicion regarding the illegal deprivation of liberty of a former serviceman (Article 146, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The announcement stated that on June 20, in Dnipro, a group of individuals, at the direction of the people's deputy, illegally deprived the victim - a former serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - of his liberty. He was held for a certain period and suffered bodily harm.
Tyshchenko accused a 33-year-old former soldier, who was on the street with a small child, of attempting to "protect the local bot farm."
On June 25, the Pechersk court granted the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General and applied the preventive measure of round-the-clock house arrest with the use of an electronic bracelet, except for the necessity of receiving medical assistance.
