An internet cable between Sweden and Finland has been damaged, with police suspecting sabotage, according to media reports.

В Швеции и Финляндии поврежден интернет-кабель, и полиция рассматривает версию саботажа, сообщают СМИ.

Two breaches have been discovered in Finland, according to reports. Law enforcement suspects that these are the result of deliberate actions.

"The Finnish police are investigating the incident and, given the circumstances, suspect sabotage," said Aftonbladet Civil Defense Minister Karl-Oscar Bohlin.

According to media reports, damage was inflicted on the networks of the Swedish company Global Connect, which is currently conducting repairs. One damage was recorded in the city of Espoo, while the other occurred in Vihti, a company representative told the publication. He noted that on December 2, approximately 6,000 households and nearly 100 business clients in Finland were without internet.

Finland's Minister of Transport and Communications, Lulu Ranne, wrote on X that authorities are investigating the incident alongside the company.

"We take the situation seriously," the minister stated.
