Police have apprehended a man who vandalized flags and photographs of fallen soldiers on Independence Square in Kyiv during the night. This was reported by the Kyiv police.

It is noted that information about the incident was received yesterday morning by the Shevchenkivskyi police department. A local resident informed law enforcement that she discovered damaged flags and photos honoring deceased soldiers on Independence Square.

As a result of the operational measures taken, the police identified the perpetrator, a 36-year-old native of the Sumy region.

"The man was detained by a patrol police unit. He was in an agitated state and, after being examined by medical professionals, was hospitalized in a specialized medical facility. Currently, the question of providing a legal qualification for the event is being addressed," they added.

In Dnipro, a man was detained on the spot for detonating an improvised explosive device near the military enlistment and social protection center in the city center.

During investigative and search operations, law enforcement established that a previously convicted 37-year-old resident of the area was involved in the terrorist act. The suspect was taken to the police station.
