With this call, he addressed the participants of the Berlin Security Conference during the discussion "Ukraine: A Model for the Victory of Sovereignty, Freedom, and Democracy in Europe."
"We are currently in uncharted waters. Is there fatigue? Yes. Is there some uncertainty? Yes. But the Ukrainian people have a strong will to defend their sovereignty, protect our independence, and safeguard the free world, as we are on the front lines of this struggle [...] He urged to enhance support for Ukraine. This is a decisive war. Crucial for the entire world," said Yatsenyuk.
Specifically, at the Berlin Security Conference, Yatsenyuk urged the German government to provide Ukraine with long-range TAURUS missiles.
"I just saw a prototype of the TAURUS missile in this building. I believe the best place for this weapon is the battlefield in Ukraine," he stated.
Yatsenyuk expressed gratitude to Germany, the USA, Estonia "and the entire free world for their support," while also emphasizing his surprise at the position of Western allies who "themselves imposed restrictions on the weapons that have already been supplied to Ukraine," as quoted by the Kyiv Security Forum website.
"Ukraine decides for itself which legitimate military objectives can be targeted with any type of weapon it has received. Ukraine acts in accordance with international agreements. Therefore, it's better not to lift restrictions – it's best not to impose any limitations on our joint decisions at all," Yatsenyuk stated.
