"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses solidarity with Romania amid the unprecedented hybrid attack by Russia against Romanian democracy, as evidenced by the data declassified this week by Romanian authorities. Russia's brazen interference in Romania's internal affairs is an attempt to deprive the Romanian people of their constitutional right to express their will," the statement reads.
Ukrainian diplomats view the situation as "another episode of a broader hybrid aggression by Russia against Europe and the rest of the free world, which has recently manifested in active Russian efforts to destabilize the situation in Georgia, Moldova, and several other countries."
"Russia's interference in Romania's internal affairs confirms the preliminary statements made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine that the Kremlin's aggressive plans extend far beyond Ukraine and specifically target EU and NATO countries. The response to such Russian threats must be collective and decisive, including maximum support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression to maintain stability in Europe and the world," emphasized the Ministry.
The agency noted that Romania is an important neighbor and a reliable partner of Ukraine, which "steadfastly supports Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression and provides substantial assistance."
"Our solidarity with the Romanian people remains unwavering. We sincerely hope that throughout the ongoing electoral process, the citizens of Romania will be able to exercise their voting rights without foreign interference," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
