MP Shevchenko told Zelensky that "the country is more important than personal ambitions." Ermak also shared his thoughts on the matter.

Нардеп Шевченко напомнил Зеленскому, что "страна важнее личных амбиций". Ермак дал свой комментарий по этому поводу.

"Come on, Vova, let’s go! It’s time, comrade president, to start a dialogue. I understand that afterwards you will have to step down. But the country is more important than personal ambitions. I will help if needed. I can go to Minsk again. We will sort everything out. Just take the first step," – he wrote.

The MP stated that otherwise, those who "applauded him yesterday in the Western world" would "force Zelensky to leave."

Shevchenko also shared in his post the news that the U.S. would support Zelensky if he decides to initiate peace talks with the aggressor country, Russia.

On November 8, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, wrote a post that is presumably a reaction to Shevchenko's comments.

"Some people's deputies seem to be confused about national security, national interests, and the future of the country. If in their minds national interests equate to Ukraine's defeat, then they are making a significant mistake in favor of Russia. The plan for Ukraine's victory, the formula for peace – this is the path to justice," – he wrote.

Shevchenko himself concluded that Yermak's reaction was indeed directed at his statement, as he later posted a response to Yermak’s post on Telegram.

"Andriy, there’s no need to further eliminate and harass the people's deputies of Ukraine. This will not benefit Ukraine. Your post is already being read in the U.S. And how does my position differ from the rhetoric of [the winner of the U.S. presidential election] Donald Trump? Or do you think he is also acting in the interests of Russia?" – wrote the MP.
