According to Woodward, Trump sent a batch of Abbott Point of Care tests to Putin for personal use. The Kremlin leader allegedly requested that this information not be disclosed and said, "Please don't tell anyone that you sent them to me."
Trump reportedly replied that he "didn't care," but Putin insisted, stating that he did not want it to be made public because "people will be angry" at Trump for it.
"Not at me. They don't care about me," Putin allegedly told Trump.
The former U.S. president commented to ABC that this report was "false," and referred to Woodward as a "bad storyteller." "He's a bad storyteller. And he's gone crazy," Trump stated.
In the same book, Woodward, citing an unnamed Trump aide, claimed that the former president has maintained contact with Putin and may have communicated with him at least seven times since leaving the White House in 2021.
