The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect in the terrorist act that occurred in Dnipro on December 14, resulting in one death and four injuries, including two police officers. This was reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"Today, the court has decided to hold the man in custody for a period of 60 days without the right to bail," the statement said.
As informed by Suspilne, he will remain in custody until February 12, 2025.
According to the case materials, a homemade explosive device was found in a bag placed under a bench near the administrative building.
It is known that the suspect is from the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region but currently lives in Odesa. According to the man, he was set up. In particular, a "curator" told him that he needed to throw paint on a person who allegedly took bribes. He claimed to have no knowledge of the explosive device. As he works as a bartender and has seen bribery at work, he decided to take revenge on the "bribe-taker" who was "ordered."
