The speaker expressed hope that the new US administration would adopt a "pragmatic approach" to ensure "progress in bilateral relations." In his view, this would allow the countries to "open a new chapter of relations based on mutual engagement."
He also urged Trump to take on a "constructive role" in resolving ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
