"We occasionally hear that Russia will never cross certain red lines of the civilized world. But open your eyes! Russia is not crossing your red lines – it is walking down a red carpet. A carpet woven from weak responses, unfounded hopes, and self-satisfaction," the permanent representative stated.
He emphasized that "this is not even a red carpet, but a river of blood that began to flow the moment Russia was given its Soviet seat in this chamber." "Should I remind anyone whose blood flows in this river?" the diplomat asked.
Kislytsia noted that Russia will not cease "to undermine the cornerstones of global security" until it is stopped. "And this is not a panicky prediction of the apocalypse from an expert on a political talk show. It is simply a description of what is happening right before your eyes – the very series on RUtflix that we are all watching," he said.
According to Kislytsia, "even amidst the development of a military alliance between Russia and North Korea, there are still people who desperately want to believe that limiting Ukraine's ability to defend itself – now from two nuclear states – will somehow make these states more inclined towards peace."
"This stance is either childish or cynical. Tying the hands of a defending state can only secure a few years of peace at the expense of Ukraine, its people, and its infrastructure. And Ukraine will never agree to such a scenario. I believe that other responsible countries feel the same way," the diplomat concluded.
