In response to certain disgraceful incidents involving employees of the Territorial Centers for Recruitment, the Ministry of Defense acts immediately.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, during the Question Hour for the government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, while answering a question from Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko regarding what the entire country witnessed yesterday as "some wild scene" in Vyshhorod where the Territorial Center for Recruitment, along with the police, was "digging" a person out of a car.

"Regarding specific disgraceful incidents, the Ministry of Defense responds immediately. There was an appropriate response from the Ministry of Defense yesterday," he emphasized.

First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Havryliuk noted that a corresponding official investigation has been initiated concerning the incident that occurred in Vyshhorod. According to him, the results of this investigation will be made public after its completion, including being shared with the Member of Parliament.

Incident in Vyshhorod - what is known

As reported by UNIAN, Telegram channels published a video showing a police officer "blowing" gas into the car's interior from a canister, after which a person in military uniform (presumably an employee of the Territorial Center for Recruitment) ignites it, likely to "smoke out" a conscript from the vehicle. It is claimed that the footage was taken in the Vyshhorod area of Kyiv Oblast.

The recording shows several men in military uniform and two in police uniforms standing near the car and attempting to open its doors. After several unsuccessful attempts, they decided to either release gas into the cabin or spray it onto the rubber insulation of the doors, intending to ignite it to unlock them. Subsequently, the fire spread to the roof of the car, but this did not help to open the door, and the men laughed as they stepped away from the vehicle.

Later, the Ministry of Defense promised to hold accountable all those involved in the incident.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine categorically condemns any actions that contradict the law and the principles of service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
