The ceasefire does not mean the cancellation of martial law in Ukraine, according to Venislavsky.

Вениславский отметил, что прекращение огня не подразумевает отмену военного положения в Украине.

"A ceasefire does not imply the cancellation of martial law. The cancellation of martial law is possible only when the threats outlined in the law on the legal regime of martial law cease to exist. The mere fact of a temporary ceasefire does not eliminate the threats that led to the introduction of the legal regime of martial law," he stated.

The parliament member reminded that Russian occupiers and their weaponry are still present on Ukrainian territory, capable of striking Ukraine.

"Considering the mental state of [illegitimate President of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin, I believe we can expect any development of events. Therefore, without guarantees that this will lead to a lasting peace, I do not think that martial law can be lifted," Venislavsky declared.

He refrained from predicting when martial law in Ukraine might be lifted.

"This depends on a whole range of factors: on negotiations, on the conditions under which the parties will come to an agreement. I mean Ukraine and the Russian Federation with the participation of Europe and the United States of America, as without this, as the president stated today, no agreements will be recognized by the Ukrainian authorities," Venislavsky emphasized.
