The Prime Minister of Georgia ruled out restoring diplomatic relations with Russia and announced a reboot of ties with the European Union.

Премьер Грузии отверг возможность восстановления дипломатических связей с РФ и анонсировал обновление отношений с ЕС.

"We do not have diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. We are simply pursuing the president's policy in the national interest. However, we do not have serious relations, like European integration, with foreign policy players," he stated.

The Prime Minister of Georgia responded negatively to the question of whether the lack of serious relations with foreign policy players increases the likelihood of establishing stable diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation.

"Sorry. No, no, no. There are no plans in this regard, because 10% of the territory [of Georgia, namely Abkhazia and South Ossetia] is occupied by the Russian Federation," Kobakhidze explained.

According to him, "diplomatic negotiations are still only being outlined."

Kobakhidze also announced on that day the intention to reboot Georgia's relations with the European Union, as reported by "Georgia Online".

"We expect a reboot of relations, and I believe that will happen. This process will particularly intensify starting next year. We think that the war in Ukraine will end sooner than initially anticipated. We believe that from the beginning of next year, a qualitative reboot of relations with the European Union and the USA will begin; this is one of our main priorities," said the Prime Minister of Georgia.

He emphasized that European integration is Georgia's primary foreign policy priority.

"We are absolutely dissatisfied with the current state of relations. We believe that soon there will be the first signs in this direction, and starting from the first months of next year, a qualitative reboot of relations will occur, which is important for our country. I think it is also important for the EU and the USA," Kobakhidze stated.
