The Prime Minister of Georgia described the protests in the country as an attempt at "Ukrainization."

Премьер-министр Грузии охарактеризовал протесты в стране как попытку "украинизации".

According to him, the opposition and Western agents are attempting to recreate a "Maidan" in Georgia.

On November 28, the European Parliament declared the parliamentary elections in the country to be fraudulent; following this, Kobakhidze announced that Georgia was abandoning its constitutional commitment to join the European Union. This led to widespread protests across the country.

"European politicians and bureaucrats, who have failed to achieve the 'Ukrainization' of Georgia, continually try to exploit the candidate status and the issue of opening negotiations to weaken the country. The primary responsibility for yesterday's violent rally also lies with the relevant European politicians and bureaucrats, as well as with the local agency — the fifth column represented by four political parties. Radical elements and their foreign sponsors always seek to find a pretext to attempt to divide the country and 'Ukrainize' Georgia," stated Kobakhidze.
