According to Fico, this intelligence information was provided by the Slovak Information Service (SIS).
"There is a group of experts on the territory of the Slovak Republic that actively participated in events in Georgia and was directly involved in the Maidan in Ukraine," Fico stated.
The official did not specify who exactly is part of this so-called group or where they are from, but he added that they are allegedly financed by various sources.
"I greatly welcome President [Donald] Trump's decision to cease funding this nonsense in Europe, which poses a serious threat to democracy, and I believe that this flow of money will be stopped and they will not be able to develop such sabotage groups in Slovakia," the Slovak Prime Minister said.
He also emphasized that this group is allegedly "strictly monitored."
Furthermore, he accused the Slovak opposition of unwillingness for "honest political competition."
Fico has repeatedly made anti-Ukrainian statements, particularly in February 2024 claiming that Russia's war against Ukraine began in 2014 allegedly due to the "rampage of Ukrainian neo-Nazis."
