He reminded everyone of the U.S. position expressed at the NATO summit in Washington, which emphasizes that Ukraine's place and future lies within the Alliance.
"More work is needed to reach that point, including reforms and security conditions. Therefore, the question is how to build a bridge from where we are now to Ukraine's potential NATO membership. The answer to this question lies in the outcomes of the summit in Washington, including the institutionalization of the security support apparatus for Ukraine," said Sullivan.
He added that U.S. President Joe Biden is working to ensure that support for Ukraine is designed for the long term.
