Over the past week, the number of flu and ARI cases in the region has increased by 22% compared to previous weeks, according to the regional center for disease control and prevention. As a result, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded by 46%.
"In the past week, more than 15,000 cases of flu and ARI have been registered compared to 12,000 the week before. A significant portion of the illnesses consists of children aged 5 to 14, which means school-aged children," quoted the Deputy General Director of the center, Maria Ozirkovskaya, as reported by the regional military administration press service.
Just yesterday, 85 people were hospitalized with flu at the Lviv Regional Infectious Disease Hospital, medical professionals noted.
