According to Scholz, Ukraine will receive Patriot launchers and Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems as early as December. Additionally, he stated that Germany will also supply Ukraine with six Sea King helicopters, air defense systems, howitzers, as well as combat and reconnaissance drones next year.
It was previously reported that the new aid package from Germany will also include IRIS-T air defense systems, 10 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks, 60 M84 and M80 infantry fighting vehicles, and armored combat vehicles, along with 6,000 unguided and 500 guided missiles.
"Germany has just provided Ukraine with emergency winter assistance to ensure that the worst damages can be quickly repaired and restored," Scholz said.
He noted that Germany is currently Ukraine's second-largest partner after the United States, having provided aid totaling approximately €28 billion.
