"The results showed: we lost, even though here in Moldova, we won. Most of you placed your trust in me, and I am immensely grateful to each of you. This is a moral victory that has resonated from all corners of the country: Moldova desires change – and it wants it now. Moldova longs for justice, unity, and respect for its people," wrote Stoianoglo.
According to him, "this is not a final defeat, it is merely a battle lost."
Sandu's opponent in the elections also spoke about "political bias and the capture of key state structures, including the media and civil society," accusing "these structures" of allegedly "not just failing to fulfill their role as defenders of public interests and human rights," but of "demonstrating a willingness to manipulate, incite hysteria, and exert pressure in the interests of a regime desperate to cling to power at any cost."
Stoianoglo announced the "beginning of a new path."
