"The EU Council has approved another payment to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility. This involves receiving €4.2 billion this month, bringing the total assistance under this initiative to €16 billion," – he wrote.
The head of government noted that such financial support "demonstrates the determination to strengthen" Ukraine's economy, support its key reforms and European integration aspirations, as well as bolster Ukraine on its path to victory.
"Together we are building a future based on stability, democracy, and the unity of Europe," – emphasized Shmyhal.
The Ministry of Economy noted that the funds are expected to arrive in Ukraine in December, adding that the total amount of funding in 2024 will be €16.1 billion.
"The implementation decision of the EU Council is the final stage of coordination before the funds enter the state budget. In November, the European Commission approved the allocation of the tranche," – the ministry explained.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, stated that the new tranche from the EU will help strengthen Ukraine's macro-financial stability and cover social expenditures.
