Today, Ukrainian MP Mykola Tyshchenko failed to appear at a court hearing regarding his case, where he is a suspect in the unlawful deprivation of liberty of a former soldier. This was reported by "Suspilne".
The session took place today at the Babushkinsky District Court in Dnipro concerning MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former special forces soldier Dmytro Mazokha. During the session, a request to extend the preventive measure for Tyshchenko, who is currently under round-the-clock house arrest, was to be considered.
According to the prosecutor, Tyshchenko had promised to attend the court himself, so no coercive measures were applied. However, the request could not be reviewed as the suspect did not show up for the hearing.
"Later, the prosecutor reported that at 4 AM on December 23, Tyshchenko sought medical assistance in a healthcare facility in Kyiv, where he was preliminarily diagnosed with ischemic heart disease. This was the reason for his absence from court," - reports "Suspilne."
Before the court hearing began, the victim, Dmytro Mazokha, expressed that he was awaiting justice.
Former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko, who, along with Tyshchenko, is accused of this crime, requested, together with his lawyer, to recuse the court secretary. The prosecutor believes this is an attempt to prolong the court proceedings.
The Case of Mykola Tyshchenko
As reported by UNIAN, on June 20, 2024, a conflict involving MP Tyshchenko and a former soldier occurred in Dnipro. According to the case materials, a group of individuals, at Tyshchenko's direction, unlawfully deprived 33-year-old former soldier Dmytro Mazokha of his liberty while he was on the street with a small child. Tyshchenko is charged under part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with the unlawful deprivation of liberty of the victim.
Tyshchenko believed that Mazokha was defending a "local troll farm." The former soldier was held for a certain period and sustained bodily injuries. The investigation established that this was done by a group of individuals in collusion, using physical force and special means.
The Attorney General of Ukraine announced charges against Tyshchenko for the unlawful deprivation of liberty of the former serviceman in Dnipro.
Previously, the court had imposed a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest with an electronic bracelet, except for the need to receive medical assistance.
