"Hard to comprehend." The Ukrainian ambassador responded to Israel's vote at the UN General Assembly regarding Russia's invasion.

"Трудно понять". Посол Украины прокомментировал голосование Израиля на Генассамблее ООН по вопросу российского вторжения.

On February 24, the General Assembly adopted a resolution titled "Promoting a Comprehensive, Just, and Lasting Peace in Ukraine," which was supported by 93 countries. In particular, the document reaffirms Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Israel was among the 18 nations that "opposed the support of fundamental principles of truth and democracy," noted Korniychuk.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Israel, "who supported Ukraine three years ago and continue to stand by us today."

"I reiterate time and again that the peoples of Ukraine and Israel are one big family, feeling each other's pain. Thus, it is difficult to comprehend the stance of the officials of the state of Israel, which is in a state of war following an unprovoked attack, and like Ukraine, is fighting for its right to exist," the Ukrainian diplomat wrote.

According to Korniychuk, he "constantly receives calls from Israeli ministers, Knesset members, and ordinary citizens," who "express their shame over this vote."
