Zelensky has enacted the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. These sanctions target Georgian officials who are currently betraying their country to the aggressor state, Russia.
The President urged European countries, the United States, and the entire world to take similar actions.
"This is how it goes in international affairs: if you do not respond in a timely manner or if you respond without principles, it leads to lost decades and countries stripped of their freedom. We cannot afford to lose anyone in this region: neither Georgia, nor Moldova, nor Ukraine. We must defend ourselves against Moscow together," his post stated.
Regarding Ukraine's preparations for imposing restrictions on the authorities of Georgia due to pro-Russian actions and the brutal suppression of anti-government protests, Zelensky issued a warning on December 4.
"The government in Georgia is pushing the country toward a clear dependence on Russia. It is simply shameful what they are currently doing against their own people," he said in his evening address.
