Ukrainian military forces have released a translation of a recording from a North Korean soldier, labeling it as a confession.
"Respected Commander-in-Chief Kim (Jong Un) has ordered us to never dishonor our homeland, while demonstrating the strength and bravery of the special forces. While working in the barracks, I thought no one was watching me, and I put Russian belongings in my pocket. My fault is that I did not follow the Commander-in-Chief's orders and stole something that belonged to another country," the recording states.
The author of the recording believes that "this could lead to serious consequences" for the commanders from North Korea.
"I will no longer trade in other people's belongings. I will heroically advance at the front lines and destroy the enemies," wrote the now-eliminated North Korean soldier.
The Special Operations Forces noted that the recording indicates that the North Korean was selling stolen goods.
"Gyeong Hong Jong had already written that he allegedly regrets the violation for which he was sent to assist Russian troops in fighting against the security and defense forces of Ukraine. However, his remorse did not prevent him from committing a new offense after arriving in Russia," emphasized the Ukrainian military.
