"After the completion of the identification process conducted by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in collaboration with the Israeli police, representatives of the Israel Defense Forces informed the Bibas family that their loved ones, [four-year-old] Ariel and [10-month-old] Kfir, had been identified," the statement said.
Citing expert assessments and intelligence information, the IDF stated that "Ariel and Kfir Bibas were brutally killed by terrorists while in captivity in November 2023."
"During the identification process, it was determined that an additional body found does not belong to [the mother of Ariel and Kfir] Shiri Bibas, and no matches were found with any other hostage. This is an anonymous, unidentified body," emphasized the Israel Defense Forces.
The IDF believes that Hamas violated a previously reached agreement.
"We demand that Hamas return Shiri home along with all our hostages," stated the Israel Defense Forces.
On February 20, terrorists handed over the bodies of allegedly four hostages. According to Times of Israel, this includes the bodies of 83-year-old Oded Lifshitz, 32-year-old Shiri Bibas, as well as her children Ariel and Kfir.
