On New Year's Eve, violators of the curfew will be detained by the police and taken to the stations.
This warning was issued by the head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police, Maxim Akhrameev, during a telethon. "National Police units will respond to individuals found on the streets during the curfew. We will be understanding towards people, as there are various reasons. For instance, if there was an urgent need or if someone needed to go to the hospital or something else," Akhrameev elaborated.
He specified that violators will be detained and taken to the station "for clarification." However, he noted that there is "unfortunately, no liability" for violating the curfew.
Akhrameev pointed out that "since December 24, the maximum number of police personnel has been deployed in places of mass gatherings, as well as on the country’s roadways."
"We are working in every region, and each region has its own specifics. There are regions where combat actions are taking place, and there are those bordering the Russian Federation. There, the conditions for service are different," he explained.
Curfew in Ukraine
In the country, the curfew was introduced after the onset of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation to ensure the safety of the population and maintain law and order.
The Cabinet of Ministers submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada that stipulates administrative responsibility for citizens violating the curfew—prohibiting presence in public places during certain hours without specially issued passes and identification.
