In the center of Odessa, quadrobears viciously attacked an elderly woman and her dog.

Local Telegram channels are circulating videos featuring a woman's commentary, who claims to have witnessed this horrifying incident. She recounted that she was passing through Starosennaya Square, located opposite the train station, when she saw two unknown individuals in hoods, wearing animal masks, with tails attached to their backs, attacking an elderly woman.

The victim was walking her small dog at the time. The eyewitness suspects that the attackers are minors, likely around 12-14 years old. She described how they, mimicking animal movements and crawling on all fours, began to bite the victim:

"I used to think that quadrobears were just a naive children's game, with kids running around with tails and ears, and that’s it… But what I saw - I can't even express it."

According to the eyewitness, she didn’t immediately understand what was happening. "Two boys or girls in hoods, with 'ears', in masks, and tails attacked an old lady early in the morning. She was walking a small, hairless dog (likely a decorative breed, - UNIAN). They pounced on this grandmother, started grabbing her by the legs; she nearly had a heart attack," she said.

The woman added that when the little dog started barking, the quadrobears turned their attention to it, biting the animal until it bled. "I heard her (the dog, - UNIAN) squealing; they were biting her…," the woman emphasizes.

She notes that she began to shout loudly to scare off the quadrobears, who continued to torment the elderly woman and her pet. At that moment, a homeless man, who had been sleeping outside, woke up due to the loud screams and responded to the calls for help. He started throwing bottles at the quadrobears, causing them to flee while still mimicking wild animals.

"They ran off like some wild beasts towards Vodoprovodnaya Street, so fast… The dog is whimpering, the old lady is crying... There’s blood… It’s just horrifying," the Odessa resident highlights.

She claims she gave her towel to the victim but didn’t manage to record the incident on video. It is currently unknown whether the elderly woman reported the attack to the police.

Interesting news - what has already been reported about quadrobears

As reported by UNIAN, quadrobears are a youth subculture originating from Japan, whose members seriously associate themselves with animals. It is typical for quadrobears to express this by moving on all fours or dressing in corresponding costumes, most often wearing animal masks and fake tails. The subculture is popular among children and teenagers, but it is also frequently embraced by young adults.

According to psychologists, this fascination usually does not pose a danger to the mental health of children or adolescents. Under normal circumstances, quadrobing is just a fun role-playing game, albeit somewhat unconventional. However, there are potential psychological risks involved, such as escapism, difficulties with self-identification, and so on.
