Tusk informed Zelensky that Warsaw is prepared to deliver the 45th military aid package to Ukraine to combat Russian aggression and has already begun preparations for a new one.
"I thanked the Polish people for their solidarity with Ukraine from the very first days of the full-scale invasion and the Prime Minister for his personal principled response to the latest Russian shelling and attempts to end the political isolation of the Russian dictator [Vladimir] Putin," the president wrote.
The politicians discussed the prospects of Poland's presidency in the Council of the European Union, which it will take over from Hungary in the first half of 2025.
Zelensky expressed hope for Poland's support in the negotiation process regarding the opening of the first and subsequent clusters of negotiations for EU membership and noted that Tusk is utilizing "broad personal contacts" to advocate for Ukraine's accession to NATO.
