In Romania, near the border with Ukraine, the body of a man who illegally crossed the border was found. He froze to death and was discovered by Romanian rescuers, reported the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
It was noted that the deceased had a passport with him, which revealed that he was a citizen of Ukraine born in 1995. Representatives from the Romanian Border Police informed Ukrainian rescuers that the man had illegally crossed the Ukrainian state border with two other individuals in a mountainous area of Ivano-Frankivsk region. Fortunately, the deceased's companions were rescued.
According to preliminary information, the man miscalculated his abilities and likely died from high blood pressure and hypothermia. The State Border Guard Service clarified that the exact cause of death will be determined after an examination.
The press service added that the companions of the deceased were saved thanks to their communication with the rescuers. The rescue operation was very complicated and lasted about 22 hours. Two groups were involved, ascending the mountain from different sides.
Additionally, today, December 6, the border guards of the Mukachevo detachment received information from their Romanian counterparts that they had found a man's body in the Tisza River, showing signs of prolonged immersion in water. The drowned man was discovered near the Romanian settlement of Kimpulung-la-Tisa. The identity of the deceased is being established.

Earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on the "favorite" crossing spots for draft evaders. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Tisza has recorded the highest number of deaths among those attempting to cross the border illegally.
Moreover, UNIAN reported that in Moldova, the organizers of a scheme for illegal border crossing into Ukraine were apprehended. The scheme operated in the Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regions.
