Sazonov noted that gas station networks selling fuel at prices lower than their competitors are under threat.
"I don’t know why Sergey Kuyun is involved in this. I've seen posts where he demands $15,000 a month from the BRSM network to stop the attacks on this network," the political scientist remarked.
According to the political scientist, the topic of news regarding the tax payments of various companies is contrived.
"Links in similar news articles mostly lead to fuel market expert Sergey Kuyun. I read his materials from time to time. However, his assessment of the tax situation surprised me a bit. It's clear that if you sell gasoline for 58.99 UAH, then taxes should be higher than those at stations selling it for 50.00 UAH. The higher the price, the greater the taxes. Simple math," Sazonov wrote.
He added that different gas station networks operate in various market segments – some in the premium segment and others in the economy sector. Such an informational campaign against well-known gas station networks is perceived as ordinary competitive struggle in the market, which should not distract consumers from the main issue – the quality of fuel, the political scientist believes.
