Hungary's Foreign Ministry states that the agreement with Ukraine will not include a clause regarding its NATO membership.

Венгрия заявила, что в соглашении с Украиной не будет упоминания о ее вступлении в НАТО, сообщает МИД страны.

On October 30, during a meeting with the heads of territorial communities and districts in the Transcarpathian region, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed that Ukraine is very eager to establish a bilateral document with Hungary to "eliminate misunderstandings or certain contemporary challenges, as well as historical issues from the past," and to avoid raising the issue of minorities.

Zelensky explained that a part of the bilateral dialogue and document includes security matters, specifically Ukraine's accession to NATO. "We ask that you do not block Ukraine's invitation to the Alliance. That is, do not support or vote against us, but rather refrain from blocking. This point is included in our proposals, and we would greatly appreciate it if Hungary refrained from blocking even this point. It is important for us," the president noted.

According to Patsolai, an essential aspect of the cooperation agreement between Hungary and Ukraine should be the "restoration of the rights of the Hungarian minority."

A representative of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry added that during the negotiations, it was made clear to the Ukrainian side that Ukraine's intention to join NATO could not be part of this agreement.

Patsolai pointed out that Budapest's stance on Ukraine's NATO membership remains unchanged. Its accession to NATO allegedly could lead to the start of a third world war, the representative of Hungary's foreign affairs office added.
