The occupying Russian army launched a missile strike on the Odessa region, resulting in the death of an elderly man who was on the coast.
As reported by the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, the Russians attacked the region during the day with two guided air-to-surface X-31P missiles. According to the official, the missiles, fired by an enemy Su-30 fighter from the Black Sea, did not reach their targets.
"Unfortunately, in the Odessa district, a 71-year-old man was killed by a fragment from one of the enemy missiles while he was at the sea. I express my sincere condolences to the family..." - stated the head of the regional administration.
He emphasized that during air raid alerts, the population should stay in safe places.
Strikes on Odessa
The occupiers carried out a missile strike on Odessa in the night of October 19, hitting a residential area where many houses are located. In total, more than 10 private homes were damaged, and a three-story building as well as two cars nearby caught fire.
On October 14, the Russian army attacked the Odessa maritime trading port, damaging two foreign civilian vessels, resulting in one death and eight injuries. All the victims were civilians. In particular, the vessel NS Moon (flag of Belize) was damaged, and the bulk carrier OPTIMA, flying the flag of Palau, was hit for the second time. A week prior, this ship had been damaged due to a ballistic shelling. At that time, foreign crew members were injured.
Additionally, on October 14, during the attack on the port infrastructure, a grain storage facility, cargo cranes, warehouses, equipment, buildings of the Maritime Administration branch, and vehicles were damaged.
