Vučić spoke with Putin, and the Kremlin claims they discussed Ukraine. However, Belgrade has not mentioned this at all.

Вучич встретился с Путиным, и Кремль сообщает о обсуждении Украины. Однако в Белграде об этом не упоминают ни слова.

According to Moscow, the politicians "exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from Nazi invaders" in 1944. The Russian Federation believes that the "Belgrade offensive operation of the Soviet army, which involved units of the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army," was "one of the key events of the final stage of World War II in the Balkans."

"Both sides expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations, which are based on spiritual, cultural, and historical commonality, as well as unity in the assessment of the past and present. The intention to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields was confirmed," the Kremlin stated.

Putin's press service claims that Vucic and Putin also discussed the situation "surrounding Ukraine," into which Russia launched a full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Vucic confirmed on Instagram that he spoke with Putin, describing the conversation as "very good."

The Serbian politician also posted a video commentary on this matter, the translation of which was published by the Belgrade publication B92.

According to Vucic, this conversation with Putin was the first in the last two and a half years (the duration of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine), describing it as "good, open, long, and substantive."

The President of Serbia noted that he discussed "all important political issues" with his Russian counterpart. There were no mentions of Ukraine in the published text of Vucic's address.

Among the topics discussed by Vucic and Putin were the supplies of Russian gas to Serbia, which have been complicated by European Union sanctions against Russia. Vucic "especially thanked" Putin for the "sufficient volumes of gas for the Republic of Serbia this winter" and emphasized the "very favorable prices" for it.

Currently, there is no information about the conversation between Vucic and Putin on the website of the President of Serbia.
