After counting 69.58% of the ballots, Sandu's result stands at 36.46%.
In second place is former Prosecutor General and opposition figure Alexandr Stoianoglo, who received 29.02% of the votes. He was notably supported by the Party of Socialists led by former President Igor Dodon.
Completing the top three in the presidential elections is another opposition leader, Renato Usatyi, head of "Our Party" and former mayor of the city of Bălți, with 14.27%.
The remaining candidates garnered less than 6%.
A total of 11 individuals ran for the presidency.

According to the Central Election Commission of Moldova, 51.55% of eligible voters participated in the elections, with the majority being women (over 54%).
