Senior British officers criticize Trump's pledge to swiftly end the war in Ukraine, according to The Times.

Ведущие британские офицеры осуждают заявление Трампа о скором завершении войны в Украине, сообщает The Times.

According to Lieutenant General Mike Elvis, who is the commander of the field army, such actions would enable the illegitimate president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to strengthen his military power and collaborate with the "new axis of aggressors." This refers to China, Iran, and North Korea, as noted by the media.

The article states that the optimal solution is to provide Ukraine with maximum military assistance without restrictions to achieve a complete victory over the Russian Federation. Senior military officials in the Ministry of Defense believe that once Trump secures a peace agreement, a race will begin between Russia and the West to prepare their armies for the next conflict.

According to Lieutenant General Sir Ralph Wooddisse, commander of NATO's Rapid Reaction Corps, Russia could be "much better next time" than it was at the beginning of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the media reports.

Major General Matthew Van Wagenen, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Intelligence at NATO's European headquarters, stated that Russia is already rapidly rebuilding its forces and will return to its military capability levels of 2022 "sooner than we think," the authors of the article added.

As reported by the media, Trump aims to end the war in Ukraine within the first 100 days of his term. However, NATO allies are concerned that Kyiv is currently not in a strong enough position for negotiations, which is likely to allow Putin to take advantage and Ukraine to concede large parts of its territory.

Journalists reminded that the commander of the British Army, General Roland Walker, warned in July 2024 that the United Kingdom must be prepared for war within three years.
