According to the investigation, on December 8th and 9th, under the direction of Russian special services, they planted explosives near the NPU facilities in the Slobidsky and Kholodnogorsky districts of Kharkiv. As a result of these events, no one was injured, law enforcement officials report.
"The enemy agents turned out to be two 15-year-old residents of the regional center – a boy and a girl. The occupiers recruited them through Telegram channels seeking 'easy' money. It has been established that the suspects acted separately from each other, with each carrying out the attack according to the instructions of a common curator from Russia," the SBU statement says.
The boy reportedly made the bomb himself, filling it with metal balls, while the girl retrieved ready-made explosives from a stash. Both left them in trash containers near police stations. Additionally, the perpetrators secretly installed mobile phones for video recording near these buildings, the investigation claims.
The teenagers have been informed of their suspicion under part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act). They face up to 12 years in prison.
