A Polish citizen attempted to illegally transport lemurs and exotic birds out of Ukraine.

According to a report on the Facebook page of the 7th Border Guard Detachment of the Carpathians, a Mercedes minibus was stopped at the "Hrushev" checkpoint and sent for a detailed inspection. It was discovered that the driver did not possess any documentation for the transportation of animals and birds.

The foreigner offered the border guard a bribe of $1,900 and 100 euros, but the guard declined. Officers from the internal and own security of the detachment informed the National Police about the signs of a criminal offense under Article 369 of the Criminal Code, "Offering or providing unlawful benefits to an official."

Attempts to Smuggle Animals Out of Ukraine

It is worth noting that a few years ago, wolves were found at the "Boryspil" airport, which were being smuggled out of the country disguised as Siberian huskies.

Additionally, border guards discovered four falcons hidden among luggage, wrapped in fabric and secured with adhesive tape.
