The decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) is dated February 4.
Zelensky commented on it in a speech following February 5, the transcript of which was published by the president's press service.
"I have just signed a decree that implements the NSDC decision from the meeting held the day before. Everything has been thoroughly worked out. All support programs for our people will continue – programs that have proven their effectiveness. Millions of people have already been helped, and the corresponding work will certainly continue," said the head of state.
He noted that the key priority is the growth of Ukrainian production, thus the government has been tasked with providing financial resources for direct support of Ukrainians and Ukrainian producers.
"This will generate more income for the budget, for citizens, create more jobs for our communities, and – what is very important – grant more independence to our state. Law enforcement agencies have taken into account all materials provided by the tax service and financial monitoring regarding identified violations. Schemes in the financial sector amount to billions. The task is simple: to bring billions out of the shadows and direct them towards the real opportunity for the state to assist people," stated Zelensky.
He emphasized that criminal proceedings have already been initiated, and there will be "strict sanctions" against those "who have constructed such schemes, who are harming the state and the budget."
