The President noted that he is not opposed to the ratification by the Ukrainian parliament of even that version of the agreement with the United States where there will be no "numbers".
"We need to look at our laws. [...] We really wanted to meet with President [Donald] Trump, to clarify this agreement, the ministers signed it, the parliament ratified it – and everyone would be happy. But a little... Well, we need to meet each other halfway [for happiness]. When one of the two [signatories] is happy, it doesn't make for a very happy 'family'," said Zelensky.
In response to a journalist's question about whether the people's deputies would "play around" if it became necessary to ratify the agreement with the United States, he replied: "Let them play around".
"These are serious matters, it seems to me, not toys. We are at war. We need partnership, we need help, but again, without losing dignity and independence," Zelensky stated.
