"This week, we have added new agreements regarding weapons for Ukraine, and it’s not just about supplies – we are also focusing on production. Every foreign visit always includes discussions about investments in Ukraine's industry. Our industrial base is capable of producing far more drones, shells, and military equipment than our country's financial resources currently allow," Zelensky stated.
He noted that there are many partners of Ukraine who "for objective reasons cannot assist with weapon supplies" because they lack their own, but they are able to provide financial support to Ukraine.
"Some partners also have specialized technologies that can be applied in Ukraine right now – in defense and in our active operations. There is leadership from countries that unites others globally for our joint manufacturing efforts. I thank each partner of Ukraine who has already invested in our Ukrainian defense sector. Thanks to such investments, we have significantly increased production, particularly of drones," Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, France and Ukraine are developing a new model of cooperation at the defense ministry level – the establishment of joint Ukrainian-French manufacturing in Ukraine.
"The Danish model is already in operation, where the governments of partner states attract investments for weapon production, and we view the new French model as an opportunity to draw investments for creating new manufacturing facilities. We are very hopeful for this outcome for Ukraine, and it is a personal task for the Minister of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industries to ensure the fulfillment of all our agreements," Zelensky explained.
On October 12, he returned from an overseas tour, during which he visited Croatia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy, where he met with the leaders of these countries.
