Earlier, on February 13, White House Chief Donald Trump announced a meeting between high-ranking officials from the USA, Ukraine, and Russia in Saudi Arabia next week. However, the Office of the President of Ukraine stated that "the Ukrainian side has not planned any negotiations in Saudi Arabia for next week yet."
"I don’t know. We haven’t discussed this. The media is printing something. I saw that someone said there will be a meeting in Saudi Arabia [...] They even raised our flag. I don’t know what that is," – Zelensky responded.
According to him, Ukraine should not participate in negotiations when decisions are made without its involvement.
"It seems to me that everyone needs to get used to the idea that it cannot be 'tomorrow there – and Ukraine is sitting there,' as it has been for many years. 'We decide here, and we will tell you where to go.' [...] Well, that’s not a serious conversation," – Zelensky remarked.
However, the president emphasized the importance of Ukraine's progress in negotiations with Trump’s team.
