Zelensky spoke with the EBRD president about supporting Ukrainian IDPs, aiming to assist them with housing solutions.

Зеленский провел переговоры с главой ЄБРР о поддержке украинских внутренне перемещенных лиц, акцентируя внимание на обеспечении их жильем.

The President shared that he held a meeting in Kyiv with Odile Renaud-Basso, the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

"Today we discussed with the EBRD, in particular, the need to support Ukrainian internally displaced persons – all those who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war and who have lost their houses. We need to assist these individuals in finding proper apartments or homes in their new locations: this issue is the most crucial for millions of Ukrainian displaced persons – having their own home. Our partners have the resources to help with this," Zelensky emphasized.

According to the president, in addition to banking and partnership assistance, "it would be fair to increase the share of frozen assets" (Zelensky noted during the meeting with Renaud-Basso, as quoted by the press center of the Office of the President).

"I will speak with partners in Europe, and I will meet at the Munich Security Conference to establish such a program. This amounts to tens of billions. We would use them to help people find apartments so they can secure a place to live," Zelensky highlighted.

According to the head of the EBRD, since the onset of the full-scale invasion by the aggressor country, Russia, the bank has allocated €6.2 billion to Ukraine, including €2.4 billion last year.
